Streamtime Radio Program on Elections in Iraq
24/01/2005
Streamtime Radio Program Covers Elections in Iraq on January 30th
2 - 6 p.m. (Central European Time)
free voices from voters in Iraq
On January 30th Iraqis are called to vote for the interim national assembly. It will be a day of hope and violence, no doubt. Streamtime will be an on-line platform for direct and independent reporting and discussion.
Our stream will start at 2 p.m.: radio on internet! We don't just want votes, but Iraqi voices to be heard worldwide.
We call on people in Iraq and the diaspora to send us messages, join a chat or be available on the telephone, so we can hear from you directly what's going on. You don't have to be a reporter to report! We welcome Arabic, English and other languages.
We will broadcast from 2-6 p.m. (Central European Time) on the internet (streaming) and moderate a public chat. We will invite people from the audience for interviews in our on-line studio and have them partcipate actively in the program.
This program will be part of a public meeting in Amsterdam, Holland from 2 till 6 p.m. (in the Beurs van Berlage, Damrak 1, Amsterdam), organized by Pax Christi, Church Peace Council (IKV) and HIVOS.
Streamtime is a project promoting free media in Iraq. We combine old media such as local radio in combination with new media (internet, web site, blogging, streaming).
