About IST-EC2:
IST-EC2 is a joint Canada-Europe project whose objective is to connect the European and Canadian research communities in key areas of the Information Society Technologies (IST). The project is funded in Europe by the European Commission (FP6) and in Canada by key Federal Government Departments and Agencies, and the Computer Research Institute Montreal. It is the European Commission\'s Flagship Project to promote Euro-Canadian R&D Projects and Partnerships in IST.
About the Partnering Session:
Photonics related researchers wanting to enhance their access to the world\'s best facilities, equipment, talent and knowledge, and increase the speed and quality of their research activities with a European or Canadian partner, are invited to participate in the IST-EC2 Partnering Session, at Photonics North 2006, in Quebec City, Quebec on June 7 2006, from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. in ROOM 2104-A.

If there is an interest, IST-EC2 may also arrange a visit to the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Center in Ottawa (Flight times from Quebec City to Ottawa are less than 2 hours - one way - and cost around 500 Canadian Dollars).
