| | CREATING WEBSITES It is becoming increasingly common to have a personal website on the Net. When you create a site, you should pay attention to the copyright law. If you want to put your favorite images or songs on your site, according to the law, you must have the authorization to do so. There are websites made for the sole purpose of distributing images, but some of these sites do not have the permission of the copyright owners, but you put your own creations online you don't have anything to worry about. If you see a website that you like, and you want to design your own in a similar manner, you can, but do not copy the HTML! This is a copyright infringement. If you copy and then alter the HTML it is considered a "derivative work" and you must have the authorization to do so (10). Although it is not legal to do this without permission, you can always ask the owner! By following the regulations, you will still be able to create an original site on the Web. |
